Paul O'Connell is the mastermind behind the brilliant Sound of Drowning. The Sound of Drowning is a bi-annual collection of Paul's latest solo and collaborative comic strip work. Each issue is different, sometimes it might be a collection of strips, sometimes it might be one single story. You can see some great samples on Paul's website (link below), and it shows some great (and weird, and funny) strips. Personally I feel "Love is War" is undeniably clever. Paul contributes to work with other writers and artists, currently working on numerous projects with Lawrence Elwick (artist), Nelson Evergreen (artist) and Laura O'Callaghan-White (writer) amongst others. Although Paul puts a lot of attention and focus into his webstrips, he also puts a lot of care and attention into his printed strips, producing great quality limited edition greyscale print runs of his comics. And once they're gone, they're gone. They usually come in at about £3.50, but vary in price. There is a huge demand for Paul's work (as evident on his shop, where at time of writing only one comic out of 12 remains in stock). Personally, I love Paul's crazy style and his genuinely inventive way of creative comics. I don't say this often, but this guy is up there with some of the best and craziest ways of creating UK comics.
