Wigan-born writer & artist BRIAN GORMAN’s latest project is ‘MANCHESTER/SALFORD: A Tale Of Two Cities’, a social history told in the increasingly popular graphic novel format. Inspired by his recent move to the area after spending 15 years in Chester, Gorman is working hard on condensing centuries of history into an entertaining and informative read for tourist and native alike. With the likes of actress MAXINE PEAKE (who starred as the feisty Veronica in the Manchester-based TV show ‘Shameless’) contributing stories and anecdotes, Brian is hoping to follow in the footsteps of his hero, multi award-winning comics’ writer/artist BRYAN TALBOT.

Martin Simpson (Tweekhed) has announced his first Tweekhed Press mini comic entitled Unmasked is now available to buy. The comic is about the frustration of being expected to 'fit in' and Martin says "I'm really pleased to announce that my first Tweekhed Press mini comic 'Unmasked' is now available from my brand new shop over at Etsy.com. Unmasked has been a real labour of love. It's something I've been fitting in and around other projects for a while now.. illustrated with a mix of sculpture, photography and good old hand drawing! Hope you like the way it's looking!"

Emma W and Arcaders #1 Print E-mail

London based creator Emma W has recently published her first comic entitled Arcaders. Set around an 80's video-game arcade in America and heavily influenced by the comedy/horror crossover movies and spoof/screwball movies of that time, it features a motley crew of individuals that spend a lot of the time in the arcade and all the weird stuff that happens to them there, plus playing a video game for an abnormally long time can do strange things to a person's mind (trust me, I know from personal experience!).

The first issue is out now, with the second planned before the end of the year. Check out Emma's website for more info and stockists.
