England's second city will once again host the UK’s biggest and best event celebrating comics in all their wonderful shapes and sizes. From Manga to Marvel, from Superman to Watchmen, and from Web Comics to Graphic Novels, all aspects of the medium are celebrated at The Birmingham International Comics Show on October 4th and 5th at the Think Tank, Millennium Point.

To help fans celebrate will be a whole host of top creators from all over the world, including hot Thor artist Olivier Coipel from France, comics legend Michael Golden from the USA and England’s very own Dave Gibbons, who has even more reason to celebrate as he exclusively presents his new Watchmen Companion book at the show. Other top name guests include Walking Dead artist Charlie Adlard, Hellboy Artist Duncan Fegredo, and the award winning artist on Criminal and Marvel Zombies, Sean Phillips.

Joining the show’s guests will be an astonishing array of top retailers, publishers and creators offering fans a unique opportunity to meet their idols, pick up bargains and see the latest books being launched all under one roof. Budding creators can also look forward to Portfolio reviews hosted by some of the comic industry’s most influential editors, including Mark Chiarello and Michael Wright from DC, as well as a writing contest with the top prize of a paid gig at 2000ad, not to mention an impressive events program of exclusive interviews with guests, panels and fun quizzes for the whole family to enjoy. There really is something for everyone at BICS 2008.

New Guests added: David Lloyd, and Chris Weston, will both be appearing for signings.

I should also mention that over 50 indy and small press publishers are exhibiting this year so it's great chance to meet some of your favourite creators all under one roof.

Hope to see you there,

Shane :)
